Identity through performance

Who am I?  What defines me?  What is my purpose?  Who do you say I am?  Questions of identity abound in our culture.

During the summer holidays, we are running three day performance workshops looking into the theme of identity and what Jesus had to say on the subject.  The workshops are for anyone in school year 7-13 who love performing, whether it be drama, theatre, dance or music.  During the three days young people will explore the theme and devise a piece of work related to it.

We will be running the workshops in Cheltenham from Monday 23rd-Wednesday 25th July.  The workshops will be repeated in Gloucester from Monday 13th–Wednesday 15th August.  Venues are awaiting final confirmation.  Each day will run from 10am-3pm.  On each of the Wednesday evenings we will put on a showcase of the work for family and friends of the young people involved.  These evening will also be open to our supporters.  The showcase will be an opportunity to perform the work the young people have devised as well as to share the things they have learnt throughout the workshops.

There will be no charge for the workshops but if people are able, we would be grateful if a donation towards our costs could be made.

The workshops will be led by a performing arts student who was a former member of Underground.

We will have limited spaces on each of the workshops and will therefore need people to book in advance.  To register interest and find out more information please complete the form on this page or call 01242 524408 and speak to Paul.
